Launched in 2022, the Emigrant Policy Regimes (EMIGPOL) Project comprehensively examines the policies of 21 countries* among the top 25 countries with the highest number of emigrants, according to the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA) Population Statistics, aimed at managing their citizens abroad and their mobilities. The project aims to analyze the interaction between policies controlling emigration, managing the relationship between the home state and its citizens abroad and promoting return.
